Dr. Cha Kar Huei, who is a consultant general surgeon at Subang Jaya Medical Centre since 2008. Prior to his appointment at SJMC, he was a lecturer in surgery at University Malaya Medical Centre from 2005 to 2008.
Dr. Cha attained his undergraduate medical degree from Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, in Canada in 1998. He entered general surgery training at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, USA under the Harvard Medical School program from 1998 to 2000. He furthered and completed his general surgery training at University of Wisconsin, Madison from 2000 to 2004. He also spent one extra year after his formal general surgery training at New York University Medical Centre in Minimally Invasive Bariatric Surgery Fellowship from 2004 to 2005. Dr Cha attained certification from the American Board of Surgery in 2005 and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeon since 2009.
Dr. Cha has vast experiences in minimally invasive surgery, with special interest in Bariatric Surgery. He has successfully started bariatric surgery program at UMMC and SJMC.
