ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Call for abstracts open: 1^st December 2016                                                                                                                                         

Abstract submission deadline: 28^th February 2017 (Extended)

Notification of acceptance: 7^th March 2017

Eligibility criteria for Poster Competition

1. All abstracts submitted must be in English.

2. Once an abstract is selected, at least one of the authors of the poster MUST register for the conference. Payment for conference registration should reach the Conference Secretariat by 14^th March 2016.

3. Participants may submit more than ONE abstract.

4. The MDES Scientific Committee will review and reserve the right to decide on the acceptance of abstracts.

5. The abstract must be ORIGINAL and have NOT BEEN PUBLISHED / PRESENTED at any international or national conference.

Abstract Format

1. Abstract must not be more than 250 words.

2. It must not have images, graphs and tables.

3. Use numerals to represent numbers except when beginning a sentence.

4. All abbreviations must be spelled out on first use.

5. Abstract title must be in capital letters. Title should be brief and clearly indicate the content of the abstract.

6. Attending author's name must be in FULL and bold.

7. Only abstracts that conform to the given guidelines will be accepted.

3. Methodology

4. Results

5. Discussion / Conclusion

Abstract Submission Guidelines

1. All abstracts must be submitted to the MDES 2017 Conference Secretariat by email (mdes2017@crestevendz.com.my). Hardcopy submissions will not be accepted.

2. Your abstract will appear in print as submitted. Please ensure you check your data carefully before submitting as changes or additions will not be accepted after 20^th February 2017.

3. Abstracts must be submitted by 20^th February 2017. Late submissions or incomplete abstracts will not be accepted.

4. Upon submission, abstract applicants will receive a notification of receipt from the Conference Secretariat by email. If you do not receive any acknowledgement reply, please contact the Conference Secretariat via email at mdes2017@crestevendz.com.my

5. The Conference Secretariat will notify participants regarding the results of their submission by 7^th March 2017.

Abstract Review & Awards

• All abstracts will be reviewed by the MDES Scientific Committee.

• There will be awards for the 3 best posters. Cash prizes and certificates will be given to the winners.

                1^st Prize   : RM 1,000
                2^nd Prize  : RM 800
                3^rd Prize  : RM 500

• Successful poster presenters will be notified by the Conference Secretariat and informed of the judging process, time to put up the posters during the conference and all relevant details.

• Judges’ decisions are final. No appeal will be entertained.
